See now, aren’t we just a delicious ball of wenchie-lisciousness in our Second Life Fashion?

Just close your eyes (well, don’t really, because then you can’t read my totally amazing uberly fantastic scenario setup), and imagine the dull rhythmic thuds against the boat’s hull from the waves. The stench of the seaweed and fish, saltwater and stale ale. The sounds of pirates singing in their drunken states songs about lusty wenches <insert cute above wench here>. “Yo ho Yo ho, a pirate’s life for me!”

Or perhaps in a medieval tavern, dimly lit as you sit at the bar and have a bar maid <again, insert the cutey patooty here> slide over a frothy mug of ale, making sure her cleavage is bountifully hanging out for your perusal.

*COUGHS* I swear I’ve not done that. (Totally lies but you knew this already, didn’t you?) Onward to the Second Life fashion part of this blog!

As you can see from the untouched images, the textures on this set are very nice. I love the way the blouse shows her decollete’ without being too much. Is there such a thing as too much? Oh yes. I’ve hit it. Loved it. Got the t-shirt – extra decollete please! The skirt hangs nicely as well. No pixelated vortex of primmyness to be had here.

Suggestions would be: 1) Make the skirt’s resizer script include both wide and deep. It’s a great service for us avatars that have some curves to our frames. 2) Make the resizer script deletable afterwards! 3) Make the skirt modifiable for those stubborn pieces to lay just so over my ghetto booty.

Next up is this delectable necklace I included with the set. This is from Silent Woods and well made. I rather like it!

So what’s in store for us today in Second Life fashion, in the role play world? Xanadu – that’s who? Oh yes, corny but I went there.

In all seriousness, this outfit is simply divine, I love the way the textures crackle and fade, depending on where it lies on the dress. It reminds me of the Septarian mineral, which is also known as Dragon stone. The colors are fabulous, as well as the dropped waist with the bow. Now, I’ll have you know that generally bows are NOT my thing, but this one is totally do-able. Unlike Shiloh, I am not the girlie girl type, but we both love a great second life fashion.

For a Gorean lady, to keep her status, she’s not to show any skin at all, and this dress definitely fits that bill. Complete coverage without feeling like you are one of those walking tents. Tip please! 20% minimum for lack of forced collar.

Again, details are a must. I love the little feather dangly on the knit scarf. It’s just enough pop to give it some style and movement. The skirt is tasteful in its flexi, lightly moving.

Juicybomb Crush on You Event – Hurry, Hurry!

Second Life fashion blogger extraordinaire, Gogo, has put together a special shopping treat for all fashionistas. I’m a bit late on the post, and the items are supposed to be geared towards valentine’s day, but honestly they are suitable for any day of the year! Just teleport to Malt and start perusing the quaint little stalls filled with goodies from your favorite shops.

There are lots of gifts set out as well, not the kind you let sit in your inventory either. They’re lovely! I’ll stop babbling now and let you have a look at some of the goodies and gifts that I found!

Pink Party Girl!

I have never shoved anything that I’ve received from Fishy Strawberry, bought or gifted, into the dark abyss that is my unused inventory. FS designs are consistently fun, well made, and colorful! Her gift for the Crush on You event lived up to those expectations! If you look closely you can see the beautiful paisley design on the shirt, and the back is gorgeous and open with a few little strings. It’s super adorable, I wish I had gotten a shot of it! The skin I’m wearing is from Nvious by GG, and I very, very rarely will deviate from my LAQ skins, I can’t help it, I love, love, love the LAQ tummies! However, this skin with it’s delicate features and glorious tummy highlighting (which you will see in the lingerie shots below), made me start rethinking my brand loyalty. Oh, fashion is such a fickle thing!

Ok, call me a dork if you must, but when I put these adorable wings on from ~+Flirt+~, I couldn’t help but imagine myself walking all gazelle like down the glitzy Victoria’s Secret runway, hips swaying, assets bouncing, you know what I’m talking about… tell me you weren’t thinking it too! Unfortunately, it would be more like this – me walking down the runway, all Bambi-legged and klutzy, tripping over my own two feet and ending up in Tim Gunn‘s lap as he watched from the front row. (Ha ha! Whiskey can you fit Tim Gunn into your blog post??)

What can I say, I saw it and I HAD to have it. Normally I’m not one for brightly colored outfits, but I saw this new Lovelace lingerie set from Katatonik and it just begged me to buy it. What? You’ve never had clothing talk to you? Whatever!! I put it on and it made me feel a little giggly, a little giddy and a whole lot of mischievous! Look out Jake!

No, no, I’m not dead. I’m not even pretending to be. I’m simply sick as a dog and Shiloh is dealing with some RL thingies and neither one of us have really been inworld much the past week at all. 12 Days of Lingerie Day 8: Upside Down

Shiloh is out having real world fun, and asked me to hold down the fort here. So, since I’m in charge, I’m going to turn things upside down and backwards!

I recently got a computer that can handle shadows. These pics are my very first view of the Second Life world with shadows enabled. I’ve got a lot to learn. It’s not just a matter of enabling shadows and snapping a pic! Why can’t things be easy?

One thing that’s easy is finding good deals on Second Life fashion. This lingerie I’m wearing is being sold at Collabor88 this month. From Whippet & Buck, the Tess Underthings set comes in 6 colors for 88L each.  There are several incredible designers involved each  month at Collabor88, and I seldom leave without having bought at least half of the items available.

When Shiloh started the Unapologetic Second Life Fashion Blog, one request she made was to post un-photoshopped pics that accurately show the fashion we’re posting. So, these shots have been cropped, and nothing else. I hope you can make out the detail on this set, as it’s quite sweet and very well done.  Whippet & Buck nails it, every time.

I nailed it too. Good form, smooth transition. Just couldn’t stick the landing.

12 Days of Lingerie Day 7: Spring Up!

After a long winter, my home sim turned green again! While I loved the look of the snow, it’s amazing how uplifting Spring can be. Logging in to a green sim puts some serious spring in my step and makes me want to dress lighter, too. I intended to TP over to the Unapologetic Second Life Fashion Blog headquarters to snap some pics, but I just couldn’t bring myself to leave the green. Instead I floated all the way around my sim, taking in how beautiful Second Life can be.

 

And nothing makes me feel lighter than dainty undies. I’m wearing an older set from a classic designer, but I don’t think age takes anything away from the quality of the design. Blowpop has been around Second Life fashion for as long as I have, and I still wear the very first items I purchased there. The Jolene set is perfectly made, right down to the tiny bows on the garter straps. The edges are crisp and clean, and the textures are realistic. And Blowpop is good about providing every single piece on every single layer possible, which I’ve always appreciated.

I chose not to wear stockings this time, due to  my furry feets. But Blowpop does sell my most favorite fishnets on all of the grid. 12 Days of Lingerie Day 6: Firework

xFAILx I know I know, please forgive me. I have failed the lingerie challenge. But please believe me when I say I am trying my best. Sometimes RL just gets in the way, you all know how it is, right? So, today I was planning on giving you a double feature with days 6 and 7, but I am just so, so tired and I don’t want to deliver a second rate review. I will catch up tomorrow!

Day 6 is a gorgeously feminine little outfit that just begs for romance. This Sweet Nothings lingerie from Mon Cheri in midnight celebrates all that is old hollywood, glamour and the feminine. So many times when designers try to do “sparkles” or rhinestones on an outfit, they end up looking flat and stretched. Freya Oliveri does an amazing job with these jewels, they look so realistic, I can almost see them shimmer. By know you all should know that I am a stickler for “finishing.” Finished edges are must on any Second Life fashion piece I wear. If a designer doesn’t take the time to finish the edges, it kind of makes me feel like they don’t have much pride in their work. But hey, that’s just me, and this outfit is finished perfectly.

I thought this look was particularly sassy. I love the bra top with the little skirt!

This combination is so damn hawt! I had to strategically cover most of it with my hair, however, the pasty layer consists of little jewels covering the breast, kind of in the shape of a firework burst. So naturally, it made me think of Katy Perry and her song Firework!

12 Days of Lingerie Day 5: With You

I can’t help it. I’m a sucker for romance and the closer we get to Valentine’s Day, the mushier I become. I know sometimes I come across as a bit of a wild child, but deep down I have the same needs as anyone else. The need to be appreciated, the need to be understood and the need to be loved. Lucky for me I’ve found that special person who takes me as I am, crazy and all. You probably all think he’s a saint, I know I do. I am not an easy to handle. Not. One. Bit. Today’s look is dedicated to my softer side. The side that gets butterflies every time he’s near, the side that misses him dearly when he’s not around. The side that tells him I can’t imagine a world without him. Yeah, yeah, yeah, there’s a little cream filling inside this tough cookie. Let’s just keep it our little secret, ‘k?

The outfit I’m wearing is called Lacely by Angelic Lefevre Couture. I had been staring at this outfit on Second Life Marketplace for over a week now, wondering if the design would really look that soft and lovely in person. I can answer with a resounding YES! The quality of the design is excellent, there are no unfinished edges, the lace texture is simply gorgeous and the little tassels and scalloped lace finish this sexy little number up just perfectly. The back of the outfit is laced up like a corset and is just to-die-for. I know I should have taken a picture of it, but I began daydreaming about my baby and well… my mind began to wander. Forgive me? Also pictured is a set of prim nails from Sins & Virtue. I can’t believe I have lucked out two times in a row and found prim nails that actually need virtually no adjustment! The cool thing about this set is that it comes with a handy dandy little hud that changes size (10, 20 and 30), length of nail, shape of nail and a ton of different colors and designs. It’s pretty fan-freaking-tastic!

So now that I am looking all sexy-fied, I’ll sit back and continue to get all gooey melty inside thinking of that special guy,while I listen to our song:

12 Days of Lingerie Day 4: Bunneh!

Hey howdy hey! I’m Whiskey Day, and I’ll be guest blogging here for Shiloh! I’m going to try to behave myself here since I’m a guest, but anyone who knows me can tell you, that’s tough for me.

Since this is a blog about Second Life Fashion, it’s only right to include some furry fashion here. There are tons of full time furries in Second Life and many folks who just slip into a furry suit every now and then for fun.  And it is fun! If you’ve never been a furry inworld, why not? Being a furry can bring a different kind of fun into your second life. If you’re not having fun, then you’re not doing it right!

For the 12 Days of Lingerie Challenge, I’ve chosen to show off a set of my all-time favorite delicates, from Zaara. I love the deep red, love the black details and adore the perfectly crisp edges. All too often, lingerie edges blur into the skin and look weird. But this set is perfect all the way around. The Kanti set from Zaara is available at the SL Marketplace, but I recommend you go to the mainstore to shop, as it’s a lovely build and a good idea to support inworld shopping when you can.

I’ll be posting regularly here at the Unapologetic Second Life Fashion Blog, and I’ll be focusing on Second Life Fashion for furries. Furry avatars face special challenges when it comes to fit. Modifications of prim parts are almost always necessary. I’ll talk about what works for me, and what doesn’t.

12 Days of Lingerie Day 3: Sin

Back in the early 90′s I considered myself to be quite the little rebel. I had straight black hair cut in a little bob and wore dramatic eyeliner and lipstick. My favorite musical artists were NIN, Type O Negative and Ministry, I hung out at the goth clubs with aspiring poets, artists and musicians (of which I was one myself). And generally just immersed myself in this wildly creative, albeit darker, environment.  Day 3 is inspired by that time in my life, and I’ve got just the soundtrack for ambience. Second Life fashion is about to get some sin.

The outfit is from AlterEgo. AlterEgo is a pretty cool shop, the outfits are not all that much different from other club/urban wear shops around the grid. The thing that sets it apart is the way creator, Toxxic Rhiannyr interacts with her VIP customers. Not a day goes by that there isn’t some long conversation about this and that taking place in the group chat, and Toxxic is constantly offering her VIP customers (which seem more like a bunch of friends) gifts, cheapies and discounts. She cultivates a party atmosphere both in the group chat, and the shop. It’s truly one of the most active group memberships I’ve seen and I have to say I love it.

The necklace I’m wearing is a group gift from Grasp. I know it’s hard to see here, but it’s really quite cool and if you haven’t visited this shop, I highly recommend it for high quality leather jackets. The nail, necklace and ring set is from DemonKitties and I thought it added just the right finishing touch to the outfit. The set comes in three hand sizes, 10, 20 and 30 and they fit just about perfectly! I was really impressed because I have been frustrated by prim nail sets in the past.
